Compassion, 2016
El pasado viernes fue el 10 de diciembre: Día de los Derechos Humanos. El lema de este año 2021: Todos Humanos, Todos Iguales. En este día de 1948, las Naciones Unidas declararon un documento que declaraba que todos los seres humanos tienen los mismos derechos a los que tienen derecho todos los seres humanos. Este documento es el documento más traducido de las Naciones Unidas, declara Naciones Unidas.
Este año la jornada se centró en la Igualdad: ”Reducir las desigualdades, promover los derechos humanos”. Un tema importante, especialmente relacionado con el Covid-19-pandemia, que ha arrojado una luz diferente sobre la definición de igualdad, ‘libertad’, sociedad y cómo luchar juntos contra un virus como Covid como ‘humanidad’. El virus no está influenciado por la raza, el estado, el género o lo que sea. Para el virus, todas las personas son iguales. Pero cuando algunas partes del mundo tienen un acceso más fácil a las vacunas, para protegernos (a todos) contra el virus Covid-19, no se puede negar que nos recuerda la novela alegórica Animal Farm (1945) de George Orwell. ”Todos los animales son iguales pero algunos son más iguales que otros”. ¿Hemos aprendido del pasado? ¿Estamos haciendo todo lo que podemos? ¿Estamos mostrando compasión el uno por el otro?
La obra de arte Compassion fue realizada por Jan Theuninck en 2016. El artista belga pretendía pintar la compasión: ”el principio de compasión permanece en el corazón de todas las tradiciones religiosas, éticas y espirituales, y siempre nos pide tratar a los otros como nos gustaría ser tratados. La compasión nos impulsa a trabajar sin cansancio para aliviar el sufrimiento de nuestros semejantes; nos motiva a dejar de lado el egoísmo y aprender a compartir y nos pide honrar la inviolable santidad de cada ser humano, tratando a todos, sin excepción, con absoluta justicia, equidad y respecto”.
En Crowplan, nuestro objetivo es crear proyectos para ayudar a aumentar la igualdad en los campos del patrimonio (cultural), la arquitectura, el urbanismo y el turismo.

Last Friday was the 10th of December: Human Rights Day. The slogan this year 2021: All Human, All Equal. On this day in 1948 the United Nations declared a document stating all humans have equal rights that everyone who is human is entitled to. This document is the most translated document of the United Nations, declares the United Nations.
This year the day focused on Equality: ”Reducing inequalities, advancing human rights”. An important theme, especially relating to the Covid-19-pandamic, which has shed a different light on the definition of equality, ‘freedom’, society and how to battle a virus like Covid together as ‘humanity’. The virus is not influenced by race, status, gender or whatever. For the virus, all people are equal. But when some parts of the world have easier access to vaccines, in order to protect (all of) us against the Covid-19 virus, it cannot be denied it reminds us of George Orwell’s allegorical novel Animal Farm (1945). ”All animals are equal but some are more equal than others”. Have we learned from the past? Are we doing everything we can? Are we showing compassion for one another?
The artwork Compassion was made by Jan Theuninck in 2016. The Belgian artist intended to paint compassion: ”the principle of compassion lies at the heart of all religious, ethical and spiritual traditions, calling us always to treat all others as we wish to be treated ourselves. Compassion impels us to work tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of our fellow creatures, to dethrone ourselves from the centre of our world and put another there, and to honour the inviolable sanctity of every single human being, treating everybody, without exception, with absolute justice, equity and respect”.
At Crowplan our goal is to create projects to help increase equality within the fields of (cultural) heritage, architecture, urbanism, and tourism.
